Huge Google drop in China
On November 9, 2012, Google Services were unavailable from China. Google Search is only the second search engine in China (after Baidu) but with an online population of more than 500 million that still leaves it with many millions of daily users and on the Top 5 most used website in China.
A Google representative said:
We’ve checked and there’s nothing wrong on our end.
According Greatfire.org, the cause of the blocking is due to a DNS poisoning on the occasion of the 18th Communist Party Congress. Never before have so many people been affected by a decision to block a website
