Salesforce CS11 database issue

On March 4, 2013 from 13:50 UTC to 14:17 UTC Salesforces customers experienced slow performance or intermittent errors while using the Salesforce application. The issue was located in the database tier with a significant impact on the response times from the application tier including login.
