GoDaddy: hundreds of thousands of web site crippled
On Thuesday September 12, GoDaddy, the hosting company (more than 5 million websites) and domain registrar, has been struggling or down since 10 a.m. PT to 4 p.m. PDT taking hundreds of sites offline.
At first, a DDoS attack was considered, however, after Scott Wagner (GoDaddy interim CEO) says:
It was not a “hack” and it was not a denial of service attack (DDoS). We have determined the service outage was due to a series of internal network events that corrupted router data tables.
